The church was never intended to be known for its knowledge. 1 John 3:8 tells us that we should love with action and truth.  The church was created to DEMONSTRATE the power of God to a lost and a dying world. The heart of God is to have a personal relationship with all of His sons and daughters that goes beyond head-knowledge and memorization of scripture. If knowing the scripture was synonomous with relationship with God, the Pharisee's would have been amazing disciples of Jesus. Instead, they were key players to His crucifixion! Jesus says to them in John 5, "You search the scriptures thinking you have found salvation, but the scriptures point to Me and you have no idea who I am." Education without activation is nothing more than religion ... knowledge with no power!
